Abstract

The contribution aims to present the results of a research on the topic of strategic competences of professionals teaching in prisons, within the adult education system. International studies on training and lifelong learning highlight the issue of key competences, which are considered crucial. The research, with a qualitative-quantitative approach, carried out training activities and empirical investigation with a questionnaire. A repertoire of strategic competences was produced, in which importance is attributed to the affective-relational, personal and andragogic dimensions. The paper highlights the need to intervene with adequate training programs, to reduce the difference between the perceived important skills and their effective exercise. The development of an education culture is recommended to qualify the adult education system.
