Abstract

The Italian Educational Research Society (SIRD) has conducted an investigation into the experience of Italian teachers during the COVID-19 health emergency. From April to June 2020, teachers were given an online questionnaire that addressed the different aspects of teaching in emergency conditions. More than 16,000 teachers from schools of all levels and grades from all Italian regions were reached. The research collected information on the organizational strategies and teaching methods and techniques employed, on the critical issues and on the evaluation of the teaching effectiveness of the interventions that were developed. The research also allowed an estimate of the number of students reached. This paper presents the research structure and a first description of the collected data.
