The role of the University in the "European universities charter on lifelong learning"

Abstract

The article aims to analyse the recent euro-pean universities’ charter on lifelong learning introduced by the EUA to the General meeting held in Rotterdam last 23 October. It is a strategic document, that claims for a pre-cise assumption of responsibility from the Eu-ropean governments to define the essential normative interventions. The guidelines should promote in European Universities specific stra-tegies of intervention within a continuous edu-cation framework. The comment to the euro-pean document will also be conducted embra-cing the most recent reflections on the theme of adult education.
