School Truancy and educational poverty: what are the interventions strategies?

Abstract





This paper explores the topic of drop-out as a form of educational poverty, on the double side of the ‘lost’ and of the school that loses human capital and potentiality. The article underline the importance, highlighted by various studies, to adopt a procedural and multifactorial and, in particular, an educational approach is explained, that promotes lifelong development and learning, enhancing personal, social and relational skills and teacher training. The study particularly focuses on the analysis of some possible intervention strategies at european level and in the comparison of some empirical research outcomes about curriculum, school climate and organization, learning strategies and resilience.
