ducational Poverty, Sustainable Development and Informal Adult Education
Main Article Content
Abstract
This theoretical investigation aims, first, to analyze the conditions of educational poverty, and then to investigate the relationship between poverty, adult education and sustainable development. In particular, the effects of informal learning in poverty reduction were investigated, according to the transformational and transmissive approach, based on two different visions: ecocentric and anthropocentric. Some European recommendations have been analyzed regarding informal learning aimed at the recognition of skills and competences acquired in informal and non-institutional ways. Furthermore, education for sustainable development is considered as a vehicle for the transmission of values, knowledge and abilities based on the notions of human rights, social justice, diversity and gender equality, and therefore to the reduction of poverty.
