Educating future architects in Italy and Türkiye. Are architecture curricula keeping up with the times?

Abstract
Architecture is transforming through technologies such as artificial intelligence, BIM, and 3D production while responding to global crises such as climate change, depletion of natural resources, and digital and social transformation. As a consequence, architecture education requires a multidimensional perspective encompassing social, cultural, political, technological, and ecological contexts. In this context, curricula that meet these requirements can enhance students’ practical skills and professional competence, ensuring that graduates are competitive at the national and international levels and become socially conscious individuals. Starting from the comparison between the current curricula of architecture schools in Italy and Türkiye, this study seeks to draw possible recommendations for professional training.
