Educator and pedagogist: new skills for new educational needs

Abstract
In recent years, at the center of the debate both in the academic world and in the professional associations, the profiles of socio-pedagogical educator and pedagogist are currently two key figures for an indispensable innovation of the welfare system according to a promotional and regenerative perspective. Certain of the fact that the physiognomy of the socio-pedagogical educator and of the pedagogist rests on the fundamental but not obvious principle that professional competences are necessary and qualify the scientific foundation of educational interventions, the essay offers, in this direction, a contribution to the definition of both figures with the aim of promoting a new awareness on the educational activity of the professions, also in light of the recent legislative reform that regulates access to these professions.
