Abstract

The increasing use of educational technologies (ICT) and innovative teaching methodologies for Special Educational Needs’ children has given a strong impetus to educational research in the field of special pedagogy, in order to ensure that students with disabilities have the same opportunities to actively participate in didactic activities. This paper aims to analyze the effects of an experimental digital storytelling intervention on the development of digital skills in a sample of special needs teachers (N = 1098). The experimental activities were conducted in July and August 2021, in 8 meetings during which both individual and collective tasks were proposed. The results showed greater digital skills in the use of technological devices for the management of classroom activities and for the acquisition of disciplinary and/ or pedagogical knowledge for the teacher’s professional development.
